Yesterday afternoon, I found myself in a situation I haven't encountered in awhile - SHEER PEE-YOUR-PANTS EXCITEMENT.
I got a job.
When it rains, it pours, right? It still hasn't sunk in,
though it will when I have to wake up at 6am on Monday, and I haven't decided yet how much I'll share here on the blog (though social media + weight loss is a huge part of it!), but I'm thrilled to finally start my life!
On the way home from my interview, I stopped at Lofton's place of work to share the good news, and Kaycee was there visiting at the same time. Lofton was tied up at work and with other plans, so Kaycee and I decided to go to Gervais & Vine to celebrate!
I had two half-pours: a zinfandel and a shiraz. Something about winter makes me shy away from white wines. Since Gervais & Vine is a tapas place, Kaycee and I got a few dishes:
My favorite, the fingerling potatoes with white truffle aioli. Seriously y'all, when I die, I want to be buried with a plate of these next to my face. Someone write that down.
Eggplant fries with romesco sauce and honey yogurt sauce. Aaaa-mazing, as usual.
The pizza du jour last night was to die for! It had chicken, bacon, red onions, ranch, and I'm pretty sure some kind of bottled cocaine-based additive. Mama's jonesin' for another fix already.
We celebrated thoroughly...
Chocolate toffee mousse cake. Better than...well...I'll just say it was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever had.
Gervais & Vine is definitely my favorite celebratory place, one that makes you feel fancy schmancy just walking in the door. I'm so glad Kaycee was able to come out and live it up with me, and I'm so excited for this next chapter in my life!
